I continued this for a while, i lost all track of time, if this world had any time. I slayed too much to count, my energy was depleted. by the end of the skimish, much of the church was destroyed and dark smoke filled the building. I walked outside to rest, and recieve some fresh air. I plunged my axe into the ground and rested against it, my wounds from battle finally catching up to me.

"What now?" i looked up and called to the voices. "What do i do now?"

The voices did not respond, the clouds continued to pollute the sky. My breathe was laborred, but i was fueled by rage. "Is this not why i was made? To do your bidding, your mercanary? To slay these monsters for you? What more is there for me to do for you?" i began yelling at the sky with what little strength i had. The voices came, almost too silent for me to even make out, but eventuallyi was able to make it out a little more each time.

".........run......run.....run...run...run run run run run run run run." the voice said over and over.

I was confused by this, till i felt a strong wind blowing. i turned towards the church where it seemned to be comeing from, what heart nearly stopped once i saw it.

On top of the building, wrapping its arm around the bell tower was a frightenly larger creature. While the others resembled humans, this one was a pure monster. It's overly large round head began to open up till the cracks split it nearly in two, its mouth opened revealing thousands if jagged teeth and roared. the roar litterally had force behind it and had me slideing a few feet away. i grabbed the ground trying to keep my standing, the skin on my fingers began to tear and bleed. I looked up planning to grab my axe to defend myself, but the demon was already between us.

I stood motionless before it, the only thought screaming in my head was to do anything to survive. It strangley seemned to be working, for the demon did not move as well. It stood at least four feet taller than me, its perfectly round head big enough to swallow two of me. It's skin looked to be a solid black marble shell, perfectly smooth over it. There was two long slits going from the front to the back of the demons head for eyes, but they were gone now. It's knuckles dragged against the floor, it's large arms led to even larger hands with three claw like fingures on each hand. It's leg had an extra limb to it that led to thick, round feet.

God knows how long we were caught in a deadlock stareing at one another. i could feel sweat of fear dripping down my face. with no warning the demon rushed to me exposeing its shreaded mouth and red eyes. i put my arms up to protect myself as it's hand swung up and threw me in the air, chunks of earth lifted into the air with me. I wasn't sure how high up i was, all i know was i tasted so much blood. it's large hand made contact with my stomache, i felt sick. i felt my decenty to the ground and turned to look down. almost fifty feet from me, the demon stood under me as i fell closer to the ground. It's mouth twisted and opened up wide, almost splitting it's head completly in half. It moved slightly, aiming for me to land in the middle. I closed my eyes, what else could i do?

"Your weapon isn't a item you moron, YOU ARE THE WEAPON!" A voice screamned down at me, probally the dark one. It made sense to me, as much as anything make sense before you die. As i began to fall towards the demon, i orianted myself so my feet was the closest thing to it. If i had my axe, i thought, i would use it like this. i pointed me inmaginary weapon downard, prepareing to strike it for a possabily final attack.

There was a white light.

I stopped suddenly, my body holding firmly in place. i felt the demons teath under my boots, not enough force behind them to pierce me. In my hands was my axe, as i inmagined it; pointing downward. I stood in the demons mouth, it was wide open prepareing to devour me; it gorged itself on my steel instead. I could only see a small portion of my blade, the rest was inside the demon's throught. The demon stood transfixed in place, fidgeting slightly with a disgusting gugrlge escapeing from it's mouth.

I smiled, it seems survival was possable at this point.I grabbed my axe firmly and leapt from the demon's mouth, my blade ripping out of the demon. The demon roared in twisted pain, falling to it's knees as blood and bits poured out of it's mouth. I landed nearly twenty feet from it, faceing it with a new drive of courage. i swung my blade down and stopping it sharply before it hit the ground, the demon's blood splattered off and painted the ground. "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit," I proclaimed as i drew myself into a fighting stance," ...REPENT!"

The demon rushed at me slugishly, roaring frantically. Either it was slower or i was much faster, it didn't matter. It slammed it's fist down at me; i was able to jump out of the way in time as the fist dug into the ground, becomeing stuck. seeing the oppurtunity, i spun my myself and my axe into a full circle, driveing my blade into the demon's arm. Unlike the creatures before, the demon was much more harder than the others. My blade was only able to go halfway into the arm before stopping. It roared in pain and swung at me with it's free arm. i was able to pullout my blade and use the flat side of the blade as a protector just as it made contact with me.

I flew back and skidded on the dirt road, quickly prepareing for a counter attack. The demon lost balance for only a second, all the time i needed. I rushed forward and leapt in the air, my axe cocked back behind my head. The demon senceing danger, forced itself free by tearing off it's trapped arm. I was only able to graze a few inches into its head before i crashed into the earth, a small explosion of dirt flew around me as my blade sunk deep into the ground.

The demon roared, its only ahnd caresseing the bloody stump. I left my axe in the ground and ran rushed towards it, no mercy for the wicked. A few feet from the monster i summoned my axe, it appearing perfectly in my hands in a small flash of light. As the demon swung it's hand down trying to squash me, i swung into it's hand. It caught my weapon perfectly, like the arm it didn't dig too deep in it. We were in a contest of strength now, and the demon was winning. slowly my own axe became closer to my face. every second, i would slide back, the blade would go deeper into it's hand, or became closer to me. Something caught my attention to my right; i looked over and the suprise almost allowed myself to be crushed right there.

A red tentacle sprouted from the demon's stump. It thrashed around, growing thicker over time. In mere seconds, it had sprouted clawed fingures and turned black as marble. Good as new. It unleashed a powerful roar that forced me to let go of my axe and fall back. right when i got up the new hand slamned into me and sent me flying.

i skidded over the ground, bounceing a few times before i crashed painfully into a building. i heard snaps and cracks over my body as i fell to the ground motionless. When i had the chance to breathe, i instantly threw up blood. i placed my arm down to hold myself up; i fell back down in blinding pain. my body wouldn't listen, i was looseing feeling in my body, the lack of pain was good but i was sure it wasn't a good thing. my headrested in my puddle of blood that was slowly growing. i took small breathes, my eyelids were so heavy. i was positioned so i could still see the demon. It walked towards me, it's mouth twisting and opening hungerly. I couldn't fight, couldn't run, couldn'y do anything but wait to die.

i saw something, i know she wasn't here, but i was sure i saw her before. she was a small girl in a blue dress. yellow hair and the brightest smile in the world. i closed my eyes, ready to be with her.

"moron, you can't even save yourself in one fight could you?" the voice made me open my eyes. The dark being stood between myself and the demon. It was still solid black like before, but it had light see through details around it. I could tell it had a face, hair, and clothes on, but it was all transparent. the only think i could tellfor sure was it had a trenchcoat on, also see through.

the demon stopped only for a second, then continued towards us. The dark shadow stared at it as it walked closer, showing no fear nor emotion of any kind. the demon cupped its hand's together and lifter them over its head, then with a roar slammed it down at the shadow.

the shadow quickly clapped it's hands and spread them out as far as it could reach. A dark sphere formed in the middle of it's hands and extended to the tips of it's fingers. at the end the shadow was completly swallowed by the sphere.

when the demon slammed down, everything that made contact with the sphere disappeared. Hands, arms, even a small part of it's head was consumed and disappeared. the demon took a step back in confusion once it realised what happened to it. The sphere disappeared, leaveing the shadow floating in a small crater in the ground. before the demon could roar or take another step, the shadow flew towards it. It extended a leg and spun through the creature fast, landing ten feet away. The demon didn't move for a few seconds, eventually spliting down the middle, the two halves fell appart onto the ground.

My mind was blank through all of this, not sure what to think or feel. the shadow walked back towards me, dropping a dark fire on both halves of the demon as it passed. when it was standing before me, the shadow crouched down, sitting on it's heels. "you owe me big time for this, i don't want to hear any complaints from you later on, understand?" Even though it was close to me, it slowly was becomeing blurry. probally some blood got into my eyes. "Remember how you summoned your axe? the same princapal applies to healing yourself. just think...how should you be right now?"

I wasn't sure what it meant, but i had nothing to loose. i closed my eyes and thought: i have two wroking arms and two working legs, no broken bones and good ribs, also i could see perfectly. after a few seconds i began to feel it. i opened my eyes, my vision was perfect now. i put my hands on the ground and lifted myself up. i turned to thank the shadow, but all that came out was "THE FIRE-" before i kneeled over vomiting blood.

The shadow laughed. "forgot about your organs didn't you? those are kinda important." as i concentrated on the pain inside me, the shadow looked behind itself. "Dont worry about that, i was planning to destroy this world anywase; there is too much evidence of us here, if the darkness comes here it would be able to trace us in a heart beat. besides, you were the only inhabinet of this world." The flames he dropped on the demon quickly were spreading thoughout the town, consumeing everything. the flames were pure dark, and that's all they left behind, nothing but a void of darkness. It wasn't consumeing the buildings alone, the earth and the sky fell victom to the flames hunger as well.

I stood up once i was sure i was fully healed. "So this darkness.....makes monster's like these?" i indicated to the patch of nothing where the demon was.

The shadow nodded. "yes, and it can do much more than that. It plans to take over the creator's spot, trust me when i say this, that means everyone is doomned. It has possesed one person so far, and thier power increases every second. it learns from what it destroys and takes what power it had. It needs to be stopped...soon."

I watched as the world i knew began to be erased. "...how do i find it?"

"your eyes can see darkness. for normal people all they would have seen in the church was crazy people. when you see 'The Darkness' you'll know instinatly, trust me. It's time for you to leave. make a portal between worlds."

I was going to ask how, but i think i was starting to understand how to on my own. i summoned my blade and raised it above my head. "take me to a place, where i can become stronger...to fight the darkness." i said silently and brought my axe down. A large scar ripped the air infront of me, growing wider near the ground. I moved my hand in and out, makeing sure it was safe. I felt nothing as i touched it, but my hand would move out of site when i passed through. i was about to pass through before i stopped. "Tell me.....is she still alive?" i didn't turned around to face it as i spoke.

The shadow said nothing for a time. "...you better leave. this world is almost gone." With no more questions i stepped through the scar, to find myself between large buildings. The area smelt disgusting and was very damp. i looked back at the scar, it was gone before i even looked back. i gave it no concern and swung my axe so it rested on my shoulder. i looked down at myself; my clothes were torn and dirtied by dirt and blood. i had much strength to find in this world, but first was a change of clothes.

.........................................................

The dark shadow stood there by himself, as the world around him burned into nothing. As the flames passed over the shadow, they did not effect him. it wasn't long before he was lost in total darkness. "you shouldnt have done that." a voice said from behind him. the dark one turned to see the white one sitting on one of the many pillows cirling a box with many engraveings over the sides.

The dark one walked over and sat on the pillow opposite of the white one. "Well if he died, we may as well gave up right?"

"That's not the issue here. You showed too much of yourself there, even if the world was destroyed, the darkness will eventually find us soon."

"find me," the dark one quickly corrected. "You'll be safe because you hide behind walls."

"and you destroy walls, exposeing yourself. You only braught the end closer for us all because of this action."

"well, we already made the darkness and braught the worlds into jepordy. sitting around in the dark won't hurt anything at this point."

The two became silent at this point. "Let's discuss this later brother, we have much work to do." the dark one nodded and placed his hand on the wooden box between them, just as the white one did. at the same moment, they both slid their portions of the box open, allowing millions of glowing threads to flow out of the box. there was so much they nearly covered the world of nothing.
please please please read the first one before this. it was one giant.... "short" story, but i figured no one wants to read that much online. so i split it in half, more or less
